“Cotto is bigger and stronger than me. I will do my best on November 14,” Manny Pacquiao said at Top Rank’s ‘FirePower’ press conference at Yankee Stadium in New York yesterday.
Freddie Roach, chief trainer for Pacquiao, said “….there is danger in all big fights. Manny will have to work hard to prepare for Cotto. I have a battle plan, which I will soon discuss with Manny.” Cotto and Pacquiao are currently still in a chilled, rainy New York today for a video and photo shoot, then will head to Puerto Rico for a press conference in Cotto’s hometown of Caguas on Saturday. A big, festive crowd is expected there.
On Sunday, the two will be on top of the San Francisco Giants dugout for a press conference following the Giants game against the L.A. Dodgers at AT@T Park in San Francisco. The game is sold out. On Monday, the two will be in Beverly Hills Hotel for a ‘Firepower’ press conference.
Pacquiao will then throw out the first pitch at a San Diego Padres game on Tuesday, Sept. 15, return to Los Angeles that night to board a flight to the Philippines where he will begin training.
Cotto will train in Tampa, Fla., then report to Las Vegas right around November 1.
Pacquiao and Cotto will box November 14 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on November 14. Pacquiao vs. Cotto will be available on HBO Pay Per View.
