Panamanian IBF mandatory challenger Ricardo “El Matematico” Nunez (24-2, 20 KOs) and the South African world champion Moruti Mthalane (28-2, 19 KOs) will collide for the IBF flyweight crown on September 1 at the Arena Roberto Duran in Panama City, Panama. The IBF has already appointed the officials (all from the USA). The referee is Kenny Chevalier and the judges are John Poturaj, Gary Merrit and John Madfis. The supervisor will be the IBF president Daryl People himself.
That same night, former WBA flyweight champion Luis “El Nica” Concepcion (25-3, 20 KOs) will face unbeaten Colombian Pablo Carrillo (9-0-1, 4 KOs). The card is presented by Promociones y Eventos del Istmo.
