The North American Boxing Federation will hold its 45th annual convention in America’s “biggest little city,” Reno, Nevada at the Eldorado Hotel. While executive committee members of the NABF will arrive on Wednesday, July 10th, and have their board meeting Thursday at 9 a.m., members may register upon arrival Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. with the opening cocktail party at 7 p.m. that same night. Being an election year, the elections will be held Friday morning after the official opening in the Bordeaux Room. Outgoing president Joe Dwyer has held office for two terms since 2009 when he was elected at the convention in Cancun, Mexico.
WBC president Jose Sulaiman, also Honorary Lifetime President of the NABF, has sent a letter committing his attendance at this year’s festivities. “The NABF is without a doubt one of the most important boxing organizations in the world, founded back in 1968 with the commitment to play a major role in the boxing activity of the U.S.A., Canada, and Mexico. Please make your best effort to be there, participate, and be part of the works to keep our NABF as strong and important as ever.” stated Sulaiman.
Several activities are planned on the convention agenda including ratings meetings, supervisors and ring officials workshops.
The closing banquet will take place Saturday, July 13th also in the Bordeaux Room, with departure Sunday, July 14th. For more information go to http://www.nabfnews.com.
