Naidjala retains IBF International bantamweight title

In a an impressive performance local favourite Immanuel Naidjala retained his IBF International bantamweight title when he knocked out Emilio Norfat from Kenya at 1:34 of the eighth round at the Windhoek Country Club in Namibia on Friday night. Norfat 21-4; 4 who lost on a split decision to Naidjala in their first fight was no match for the Namibian this time, as he dominated from the opening bell and sent Norfat down for counts in the second, third and six rounds before scoring with a big left hook to the jaw that put the Kenyan down for the full count in the eighth round. Naidjala who was making the first defence of his title improved his record to 16-0-1; 11.

In the main supporting bout Sacky Shikukutu won on an eight round unanimous points decision over Pascval Bruno of Kenya in a welterweight bout. The scores were 80-73; 80-72 and 80-71.

In a lightweight bout Martin Haikali stopped Zan Jonker from South Africa in the seventh round. Time 2:21.

The tournament was presented by Nestor Tobias of MTC Sunshine Boxing Academy.
