Unbeaten cruiserweight bomber Ran Nakash (17-0, 13 KO), of Haifa, Israel returns to his adopted home, the Blue Horizon in Philadelphia, PA, to battle Dave Brunelli (8-4, 3 KOs), of Philadelphia in an eight round grudge match this Friday, April 3. The bout is being billed as an old-time Jewish and Italian battle reminiscent of the ethnic wars typical of those in the first half of the 20th century. In the co-feature, Tyric “Too Sweet” Robinson (9-3-1, 3 KOs) will face Julias Edmonds (4-3), in all-Philadelphia, eight round junior welterweight bout. The card is being promoted by Vernoca L. Michael and Blue Horizon Boxing Promotions.
The event will mark the ninth appearance at the Blue Horizon for Israel’s Ran Nakash. In between fights, Nakash returns to his native country where he is an active member of the Israeli Army.
Dave Brunelli, of Northeast Philadelphia, is one of the most popular fighters in the area. He will be making his third appearance at the famed venue, where he is also unbeaten.
Both fighters have loyal followings, and the local interest in this bout is high.
Matchmaker Don Elbaum is putting together six additional bouts to round out the card. Tickets are priced at $45, $55, $65, $125, and $200 and can be purchased by calling 1-215-763-0500. Doors open at 6:30PM with the first bout beginning at 7:30PM.
