Negron added to Sept 12 PPV

Former Olympian Carlos Negron will fight on September 12th “Undefeated Champions” pay per view card, presented by PR Best Boxing Promotions, at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Jose Miguel Agrelot. World champions Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon and Roman “Rocky” Martinez will defend their titles. Negron (4-0, 4KO’s) won his last fight against Geovante Davis on the August 21st “San Juan Boxing Nights” show, stopping Davis in the second round after having been knocked down in the first round by the hard punching Negron. Negron, who fights at 185 pounds in a six-round bout for the first time in his career, will be part of the Sept. 12th “Undefeated Champions” PPV card, which is being distributed in the United States by Integrated Sports for live viewing at 9 PM/ET – 6 PM/PT on cable and satellite pay-per-view via iN Demand and DirecTV for a suggested retail price of only $29.95.

The principal fight on Sept. 12 is WBO junior flyweight champion Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon (32-0-1 6KO’s), from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, in a title defense against Rodel Mayol (25-3-1, 19 KO’s). This fight is a rematch of their June 13 fight when after an accidental head-butt to Calderon’s head results in a cut that ended the match in a technical draw after six rounds.

The co-feature finds WBO junior lightweight champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez (22-0-1, 13 KO’s) defending his belt against Argentinean Vicente Martin Rodriguez (25-2, 13 KO’s)

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
