Unbeaten 6’6″ giant cruiserweight prospect and former 2008 Olympian Carlos Negron of Puerto Rico (5-0, 5 KOs) will look to extend his unbeaten KO streak as he takes on Larry Pryor of Texas. The bout will take place on the undercard of Top Rank’s Latin Fury 12 October 10th event. The PR Best Boxing (Ivan & Peter Rivera) promoted Negron has knocked-out all five of his opponents with four KOs coming in the first round. This will also mark the first time Negron has fought at the famed Madison Square Garden. “This will be Negron’s sixth fight this year and what an excellent opportunity for him to fight in such a historic venue as Madison Square Garden,” stated PR Best Boxing President Ivan Rivera.
In the main event, world champion Juan Manuel Lopez (26-0, 24 KOs) of Puerto Rico will take on Rogers Mtagwa of Philadelphia. Also featured will be the WBA super featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (15-0, 13 KOs) of Cuba will defend against former world title challenger Whyber Garcia (22-6, 15 KOs) of Panama and unbeaten Olympic gold medalist Odlanier Solis (14-0, 10 KOs) of Cuba will take on Chicago based former 2-time world heavyweight title challenger Fres Oquendo (31-5, 20 KOs.) Pawel Wolak (24-1, 16 KOs) will take on Carlos Nasciemento (24-1, 20 KOs) in a junior middleweight bout.
