Unbeaten heavyweight prospect Travis Kauffman will now face William Shahan on August 7 in his eight-round bout at the Star of the Desert Arena at Terrible’s Primm Valley in Primm, NV. Kauffman’s original opponent Victor Barragan withdrew from the bout last week citing a hand injury. Gary Shaw Productions will promote the fight, which will appear under the Alfredo Angulo-Gabriel Rosado main event televised by ESPN2 Friday Night Fights. Shahan of Glenville, West Virginia brings a record of 7-1 (6 KO). His biggest win to date was a first-round blitzing of Jon Schneider of The Contender: Season Four fame. Kauffman, 17-0 (14 KO), of Reading, PA has been hard at work in Deer Lake, PA at the training facility used by Muhammad Ali during his heavyweight championship days. Kauffman had a record of 52-12 as an amateur, capped off by a Gold medal in the 2004 Police Athletic League Nationals.
