2004 Olympic gold medalist heavyweight Odlanier Solis (12-0, 8 KOs) originally scheduled to face former world title challenger Owen Beck will now defend his WBC International heavyweight title against Franklin Lawrence (11-1-2, 6 KOs) of Indianapolis, Indiana. Lawrence’s best performance to date was a draw against veteran Friday Ahunanya and in his only loss he suffered an arm injury in the first round against then unbeaten Bermane Stiverne where he was unable to continue after the injury. The bout will be televised on ESPN2 Friday January 9th from the Buffalo Bill’s Star Arena in Primm, Nevada.
