New foe for Spadafora

Paul Spadafora’s original opponent, Wilfredo Negron of Puerto Rico, has pulled out of his Saturday night online PPV bout against the former IBF champ due to illness. Spadafora will now fight Ecuador’s Humberto Toledo (41-7-2, 25 KO’s), who is on a two fight winning streak and has gone the distance with the likes of former lightweight champion Stevie Johnston. Toledo famously was disqualified for biting Amir Khan conqueror Bredis Prescott in the shoulder during an ESPN televised bout in 2009. This fight along with Brian Minto vs. Mike Sheppard will air as part of an online PPV Sat night on for $9.99.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
