Following her stirring career-defining win over Christy Martin in August, world champion Mia St. John is back in the ring looking to defend her newest championship belt, as he faces New Orleans brawler Tiffany Junot in her first title defense of her WBC Super Welterweight Championship on Saturday, November 10th in the 10 round main event of the Fight For Life charity show in Bakersfield, California. Tiffany Junot has stepped in to replace the original opponent Molly McConnel,l after McConnell sustained a knee injury last Friday and had to have her knee drained and is laid up for two weeks. A resident of New Orleans, Junot will bring a shining 9 win and 3 loss record into the title fight, with 6 big knockouts. She is the current Texas State Welterweight Champion and has won five of her last seven fights.
The Fight For Life show will raise funds with100% of the proceeds staying within the Bakersfield community to benefit families battling cancer. The major beneficiary will be the Kern County Community Cancer Fund which provides funds for families in Bakersfield who need help with covering their insurance premiums, families without insurance, or just to provide gas money so families can get to their treatments.
In the other pro boxing bout, it will be heavyweight action as the big boys mix it up with Palmdale’s 4-3 Giovanni Sarran faces Perris’ 4-4 Javier Diaz.
