New opponent sought for Jargal

A replacement is being sought to fight Bayan Jargal (16-3-3, 10 KOs) in the 23rd annual Fight for Children charity boxing event at the Washington D.C. Hilton Hotel this Thursday. Lonnie Smith was set to face Jargal in a lightweight match, but Smith’s trainer contacted matchmaker Eric Bottjer on Saturday to inform him that Smith was AWOL. “This is disappointing, as Smith vs. Jargal was an excellent fight, a pick-em match,” said Bottjer. “But, the show must go on and we are actively seeking a replacement.”
