Ngumbu upsets Uzelkov in Kiev

Unheralded light heavyweight Doudou Ngumbu (31-4, 11 KOs) of France by way of Congo won the WBO Inter-Continental 175lb title by beating reigning titleholder and WBO #3, IBF #3, WBA #4 rated Vyacheslav Uzelkov (28-3, 17 KOs) of the Ukraine by unanimous decision on Saturday night at th Sport Palace in Kiev, Ukraine. Uzelkov was very aggressive throughout, but Ngumbu used the aggression against Uzelkov by countering him rushing in. Both fighters were cut. Uzelkov above his right eye and Ngumbu on his left. Multiple clinches throughout but overall a good action fight. Scores were 116-113, 115-113, 115-113. Promoter of the event was Alexander Krassyuk (K2 Promotions Ukraine). WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko was looking on from ringside.
