It was a day of fun in the sun at the Plattdeutsche Park Restaurant in Franklin Square, NY this past Saturday as Bob Duffy of Ring Promotions put together a entertaining show featuring some of the top local prospects as well a post fight concert and barbeque for the fans. The near capacity crowd basked in the sun and lovely eighty-degree weather (with a slight breeze) as undefeated junior welterweight prospect Chris Algieri (8-0, 4 KOs) – from nearby Greenlawn, NY – sent the fans home happy with a come from behind six round unanimous decision victory over Jose “The Problem” Guzman (5-5-1) in the main event. Also in action, undefeated heavyweight prospect Tor Hamer scored a crunching knockout of Marcus Dickerson at 1:25 of the opening round. (More)
