WBC super-bantam champ emeritus Toshiaki Nishioka (39-4-3, 24 KOs), a Japanese southpaw, will face WBO/IBF ruler “Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire (29-1, 18 KOs) at the Home Depot Center, Carson, California on October 13. It was publicly announced with Nishioka in attendance by Teiken Promotions and WOWOW TV on Wednesday. Nishioka and Donaire will square off with the WBC Diamond Belt on the line. Nishioka boasts of his sharpness shown in a one-punch demolition of Jhonny Gonzalez in Mexico in May 2009, while Donaire also possesses a lethal left hook with which he dismantled Vic Darchinyan and Fernando Montiel to his credit. It will be broadcast by HBO Boxing After Dark and WOWOW as well.
