Promociones del Pueblo represented by Reginaldo Kuchle won the right to promote the super bantamweight mandatory title defense of WBC world champion Toshiaki Nishioka, from Japan, against challenger Johnny Gonzalez, from Mexico. The winning amount was $452,000, outbidding Teiken Promotions ($402,000) and Golden Boy Promotions ($186,000).
