IBF super flyweight champion Simphiwe Nongqayi (16-0-1, 7 KOs) and Mexico’s Juan Alberto “Topo” Rosas (31-5, 25 KOs) almost came to blows before they were separated during today’s press conference at the Hotel Fray Junipero in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico.
The champion Nongqayi called Rosas “a kid” and boasted that he could knock out Rosas in any round including the first round, but he wants to give him a beating for awhile. “After I’m finished they won’t recognize him in his own house,” he stated.
An angry Rosas said his youth is advantage and promised to give Simphiwe the beating of his life. “I don’t fear anybody I will have that belt for Tepic. This is the opportunity I’ve waited and trained for so it’ll be a dog fight and I want my people to see a bloody fight that is for the history of Nayarit.”
The co-feature is another great fight between Jorge “Travieso” Arce (54-6-1, 41 KOs) and Martin “Gallito” Castillo (35-3, 18 KOs).
