Ex-WBA lightweight world champion Freddie “Li’l Hagler” Norwood (42-3-1, 23 KOs) has been added to Thursday night’s “Noche de Boxeo” card at the El Monte Expo Center in El Monte, California. For the 39-year-old Norwood, it will be his first fight in 14 months since losing back-to-back fights against Johnnie Edwards. Norwood will face Jose Celaya (31-4, 16 KOs) in a welterweight clash. Also, an opponent for former WBO super featherweight champ Mike Anchondo (28-2, 19 KOs) has been named. “Mighty Mike” will move up in weight to face Nicaragua’s Octavio Narváez (7-4, 4 KOs), in a welterweight match. Also, welterweights Aarón Martínez (10-1-1, 3 KOs) and Santiago Pérez (11-2-2, 2 KOs) will meet in an eight-rounder. Pérez is the son of the legendary Ultiminio “Sugar” Ramos.
