Gulfstream Boxing Promotions and Nedal Boxing Promotions will present the “Coming Home” event on November 10th at the New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey. In the main event, undefeated jr middleweight Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna will see action against an opponent to be named in a six round bout.
LaManna (9-0, 5 KOs) will be fighting in his hometown of Millville for the very first time and the bout takes place just two days before his 21st birthday.
“I am very excited about this fight and the event coming to Millville,” said LaManna. “I want to thank the New Jersey Motorsports Park and my promoter Vincent Ponte for making this dream of fighting at home to come true. I plan to put on a great fight and hopefully this will be the beginning of boxing in Millville.”
In the six-round co-feature, jr welterweight Anthony “Juice “Young (6-0, 2 KOs) from nearby Atlantic City will see action against an opponent to be named.
The undercard showcases top local talent, including super middleweight Derrick Webster (13-0, 7 KOs) of Glassboro, New Jersey and jr lightweight Joselito Collado (13-2, 3 KOs) from Queens, NY.
Webster has been a sparring partner in the camps of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Andre Ward.
Collado’s only two losses have been to top prospects Casey Ramos (14-0) and his last bout when he lost a decision to Jerry Belmontes (16-0).
Plus middleweight Isiah Seldon. (6-0, 3 KOs) of Atlantic City, the son of former WBA heavyweight champion Bruce Seldon, is scheduled for a six-rounder.
Appearing in four-round bouts are heavyweight Jon Bolden (5-4, 5 KOs) of New York; light heavyweight Amir Shabazz (1-0) of Philadelphia,; middleweight Godson Noel (1-0, 1 KO) of Newark; amateur standout jr. middleweight Antoine Douglas of Burke, Virginia; jr middleweight Greg Hackett of Philadelphia; and jr middleweight Alex Sanchez (1-1, 1 KO) of Camden, NJ
A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to cancer research by Gulfstream Boxing Promotions. A pair of gloves and trunks worn by Micky Ward will be raffled with the money allocated to cancer research.
In attendance will be Olympic gold medalist and former WBO heavyweight champion Ray Mercer & former two-time IBF cruiserweight champion Steve “USS” Cunningham.
