The Nevada State Athletic Commission has selected the officials for the dueling fight cards in Las Vegas on September 15.
For the clash between WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-0-1, 32 KOs) and former champ Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez (49-2-2, 28 KOs) at the Thomas & Mack Center, the referee will be Tony Weeks (USA). Judges are Stanley Christodoulou (South Africa), Adalaide Byrd (USA) and Dave Moretti (USA).
For the showdown between WBC super welterweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (40-0-1, 29 KOs) and Joselito Lopez (30-4, 18 KOs) at MGM Grand Garden Arena, the referee will be Joe Cortez (USA). Judges are Dick Flaherty (USA), Burt Clements (USA) and Glenn Trowbridge (USA). Also, Kenny Bayless (USA) will be the third man in the ring when WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez (52-7, 45 KOs) defends againts former WBO champion Daniel Ponce de Leon.(43-4, 35 KOs). The three judges are David Sutherland (USA), Dick Houck (USA) and Jerry Roth (USA).
