WBC strawweight champion Oleydong Sithsamerchai (34-0-1,12 KOs) barely kept his WBC crown as he scored a majority draw with four-time world challenger Pornsawan Por Pramook (22-3-1,16 KOs) on Friday at Kadchoengdoi Shopping Center in Chiengmai, Thailand. Oleydong dominated in the first four rounds with his counter attack tactic, however the show little by little turned to the challenger who tirelessly stalked the champion. The climax occurred in round six when Pornsawan successfully floored Oleydong with vicious body attacks, then he dropped the champion again but it was considered by the referee as a slippery. The action was a close affair from round nine as aggressor Pornsawan looked weakened, which allowed Oleydong to display his effective counterpunches until the final round. Scored: Franz Marti (Switzerland) 114-114, Benjamin Rendon (Mexico) 114-114 and Thawut Plumsamran (Thailand) 114-113 for the champion. Oleydong retained his WBC belt for the sixth time.
