Oliver McCall 235, Marcin Rekowski 242

By Przemek Garczarczyk

49-year-old Oliver “Atomic Bull” McCall (57-13, 37 KO) looked at least decade younger today in Poland during the weigh-in for his rematch with Marcin Rekowski (13-1, 11 KO) this Saturday in Legionowo near Warsaw. “Last time I was 235, I fought and KO’d Przemek Saleta at United Center in 2005. It just 4 pounds more I had when I fought Lennox Lewis,” said McCall, who beat Rekowski last February after split decision. “I had a great training camp with my trainer Doc Nicholson. I hope that having two straight wins, being in shape, I can duplicate what Bernard Hopkins is doing in the light heavyweight division – fight and beat the best.

Teh “Question of Honor” event is promoted by KnockOut Promotions/Babilon Promotions and will be televised live by Polsat network.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
