Omar Chavez, Alberto “Topo” Rosas triumph in Tepic, Mexico

Jr middleweight Omar “Businessman” Chavez (30-2, 22 KOs) scored a hard fought ten round unanimous decision over Charly Navarro (23-7-1, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Palenque in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. Both fighters had their moments, but in the end Chavez prevailed 96-94, 97-93 and 97-93. After the fight Chavez said he would stay at jr middleweight and hopes to land a spot on the undercard of the big Marquez-Bradley card in October.

In the co-feature, former super flyweight champion Alberto “Topo” Rosas (38-7, 27 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Fernando “Ferocito” Vargas (26-7-3, 17 KOs). Scores were 98-92, 99-90 and 100-89 all in favor Rosas.

Also, lightweight Raul Hinojosa (11-1-1, 10 KOs) scored a third round TKO over Adalberto “Temible” Borquez (27-11-1, 24 KOs). Borquez was never in the fight going down in every round.
