IBF #12 welterweight Wale “Lucky Boy” Omotoso (18-0, 16 KOs) will return to ring action on March 18 against Philip “Sweet Pea” Kotey (21-6-2, 15 KOs) over twelve rounds at the Knox Basketball Stadium, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Nigerian-born, Australian-based Omotoso is trained and managed by Murray Thomson, who said “Omotoso holds a good win inside the distance over Emanuel Augustus who had given Floyd Mayweather a tough fight. In his most recent fight in November – Wale easily stopped Juan Alberto Godoy from Argentina in four rounds. Kotey is a big welterweight standing 5’11 and has good power in scoring 15 KOs in 21 wins so he should give Wale a good fight.” Omotoso is chasing a IBF world title opportunity against the champion Jan Zaveck.
