One Punch/Fight Factory team up

Florida promoters One Punch Productions and Fight Factory Promotions are joining forces for a series of Tampa Bay area shows. One Punch Productions has operated in the Tampa area for the past nine years, and Fight Factory Promotions is the new partnership of Pete Fernandez and Michael Asmer, two former partners of the recently dissolved Starfight Productions. “I think it’s a great fit,” commented One Punch President Terry J. Trekas. “Why compete against each other for dates, sponsors, and opponents, when we can work together and still satisfy all our commitments?” The new alliance plans to run six to eight shows per year in the Tampa Bay area, with the first event already set for September 19 at the Downtown Hyatt Regency in Tampa. An additional show in November will round out the year, and the 2010 schedule should be set sometime in December.

“We are going to utilize both the Downtown Hyatt Regency, as well as the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, where I just did a show in July. And depending on date availability, the Doubletree Westshore could figure in as well,” said Trekas. The September 19 show will feature undefeated cruiserweight Nick Iannuzzi in the main event, as well as light heavyweight Adam Jaco, undefeated welterweight Raymond Charles, heavyweight Lamar Davis, jr. lightweight Cordaro Simpkins, middleweight Kenneth Moody Jr., the professional debut of Manny Woods, and several additional bouts to be announced.

Tickets are priced at $20, $35, $75, and $100, and go on sale at all Ticketmaster locations this Saturday at 10:00am. For more information please visit,, or call 813-503-8109.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
