Orlando Cruz featured on ABC World News

Orlando Cruz, the #1-rated featherweight contender and boxing’s first openly gay fighter, was profiled Thursday evening on ABC World News with Diane Sawyer. It is scheduled to air again today on both Good Morning America, and in an expanded version, on Nightline.

Cruz (20-2-1, 10 KOs), of San Juan, Puerto Rico, gets his first world title shot, battling former two-time world champion Orlando Salido (39-12-2, 27 KOs), of Ciudad Obregon, Sonora, México. The latest chapter of the storied boxing rivalry between México and Puerto Rico will be featured on the Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Márquez WBO welterweight championship pay-per-view undercard tomorrow at the Thomas & Mack Center, on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. It will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View, beginning at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT.
