Griffin edges Ortiz at UFC 106

Evening the score in a rematch three years later, Forrest Griffin edged out a split verdict over Tito Ortiz after three close rounds in the main event of UFC 106 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Ortiz was sharp early, but as the fight wore on, Griffin came on stronger. The scorecards read 28-29, 30-27 and 29-28.

In other results: Josh Koscheck defeated Anthony Johnson with a rear naked choke at 4:47 of round two.

Paulo Thiago won a decision over Jacob Volkmann.

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira stopped Luiz Cane at 1:56 of round one.

Amir Sadollah decisioned Phil Baroni.
