Dan Goossen: “I don’t like any promoter announcing a fight when they have another fight in front of them. We have a damn good fighter in Josesito Lopez and I thought it was very disrespectful for them to announce that Victor Ortiz will be Canelo’s next opponent. We’ll show them on June 23rd.”
Josesito Lopez: “I’m very upset at the announcement. They are jumping the gun. I find it very disrespectful. But that just adds to my motivation.”
Victor Ortiz: “As far as I’m concerned, I don’t disrespect anyone. I’m fighting a great fighter on June 23rd. I’ve been ignoring everyone about Canelo. I don’t care about Canelo right now. He’s in my position when I faced Berto last year. The difference is that I’m too hungry to let my chance go. If he wants to go to war, we’ll go to war. It’s in his hands. I know he’s ready and so am I.”
