Oscar Valdez update

Two time Mexican Olympian, Oscar Valdez, will be making his pro debut on November third at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Hermosillo, Sonora. “I’m excited to be making my debut in my home state,” stated Valdez. “This is the beginning of a great journey for me. I have a lot to prove to myself.” The 21-year-old Valdez is considered one of Mexico’s greatest amateurs and one of the most exciting new prospects in the fight game. “He has a very eye pleasing style and is a devastating body puncher,” stated manager Frank Espinoza who just recently crowned his seventh world champion in Daniel Ponce De Leon. “I’ve been doing this for a long time and I’ve got a great feeling about Oscar. I know I have a future champion in him. It’s just a matter of time.”

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
