Manny Pacquiao worked out for the last time Thursday afternoon at the IBA Gym on Euclid Street, two days before his showdown with Miguel Cotto before an expected sellout crowd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The atmosphere was vibrant and top trainer Freddie Roach even allowed full media access to the training session.

“He’s ready to go,” said Roach, who was assisted by conditioning coach Alex Ariza and the Filipino crew made up of Buboy Fernandez and Dodie Boy Penalosa.
Roach said there’s no doubt in his mind that Pacquiao would capture his seventh world title and not even an accident will prevent the Filipino from pulling off a major achievement this weekend.
After the workout, Pacquiao immediately went back to his suite at the Mandalay Bay where a large group of people, mostly from the Philippines, welcomed him.
It was also upon his return that Pacquiao was able to see her parents–father Rosalio and mother Dionisia–who planed in Wednesday night.
Dionisia was present during Pacquiao’s sceond-round demolition of Englishman Ricky Hatton last May also at the MGM Grand, while Rosalio is a first-timer in America.
Penalosa said only “a lucky punch” could stop Pacquiao from winning over Cotto.
“We have studied Cotto carefully,” said Penalosa.
“All bases have been covered,” said Fernandez, adding that Pacquiao will breeze past the official weigh-in set on Friday afternoon.
The catch weight is 145 lbs.
