Manny Pacquiao is leaving for Los Angeles on June 1 with his family for a much-needed break and in time for his attendance in the Boxing Writers Association of America awards night at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York on June 4. Pacquiao, who is going to be discharged anytime Tuesday from the Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital in San Juan, Metro Manila, is also gracing the June 5 bout between Miguel Cotto and Yuri Foreman at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. The boxing star had to be admitted early Sunday morning for severe stomach pain. Doctors later revealed that it was an recurrence of his acid reflux. The past few days, Pacquiao has received a steady stream of visitors, including former action star Philip Salvador and actor-turned-politician Dennis Roldan. Providing instant entertainment for Pacquiao and his friends is the champ’s adorable daughter Princess. Pacquiao’s people are working with the camp of Floyd Mayweather for a Nov. 13 fight.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
