Pacman wants Concepcion win

Bernabe Concepcion was once considered one of the top boxing prospects in the Philippines but after losing three of his last four fights he needs to get back in the winning track and will try to do so this Thursday night when he takes on Aaron Garcia of San Diego in the main event of “Pinoy Invasion” a professional boxing card presented by MP Promotions and Top Rank at the San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in Highland, California.

And sitting at ringside on Thursday will be his mentor and promoter, Manny Pacquiao, the pound per pound boxing king who still has high hopes for Concepcion.

“I know I need to win and that I also need to look great doing it. This is a very important fight for me and for my boxing career,” said Concepcion who has been training alongside Pacquiao in the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California.

Tickets are on still on sale and are available at Ticketmaster.com and the San Manuel Box Office for $50 and $90.

Generally ranked as the number one, pound-for-pound boxer in the world, Manny was the first professional fighter to win eight-division world championships. He was named Fighter of the Decade for the 2000s, and has been honored as the Fighter of the Year in 2006, 2008, and 2009. Without doubt, he is one of the most well-known and admired persons in the world today.

The eight bout card will included the return of two-time world challenger Concepcion, and will also former world champion, Rodel Mayol and world ranked Richie Mempranum, all of them managed by Pacquiao and his MP Promotions company.

Concepcion (30-4-1, 17 Kos) of Rizal, Philippines will take on Aaron Garcia (10-2-2, 2 Kos) of San Diego in a 10 round bout for the WBC Continental Americas Featherweight Championship. Mayol (20-5-2, 12 Kos) the former WBC mini flyweight champion will battle Ernie marquez (9-8-3, 3 Kos) of Ft. Morgan, Colorado in an eight round super flyweight bout. Memprahum (18-3-1, 3 KO’s) of Massion, Philippines will take on Rigoberto Casillas (6-6-1, 4 KO’s) of Tijuana, Mexico in an eight round super flyweight bout.

Every Thursday night with headliner entertainment, San Manuel gives away $1,000 just for seeing the show. To be eligible to win, guests only need a ticket to the show, a Club Serrano card and to be 21 or older. Guests can enter beginning at noon on such days. Three drawings will be held on those nights: $250 at 7:20 p.m., $250 at 10:00 p.m. and $500 at 11:00 p.m. Winners must be present.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and first bell is at 7:30 p.m. Must be 21 years of age to enter Casino.
