Pacquiao hits DC

By Nick Giongco

Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao arrived in Washington, DC after a two hour and 49 minute train journey from New York City on Monday. Pacquiao, who faces Shane Mosley on May 7 in Las Vegas, was joined by his gorgeous wife Jinkee and the Top Rank inner circle led by master promoter Bob Arum on board the Acela Express. Also with Team Pacquiao and Top Rank were media representatives from the New York Times, New York Daily News, CBS, Wall Street Journal, Playboy, Manila Bulletin, Philippine Star and GMA7. Pacquiao was brought to the historic Hay-Adams Hotel, which is overlooking The White House. Pacquiao will meet up with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada on Tuesday. Washington will be the last stop of the four-city press tour after stops in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
