Pacquiao-Rios undercard shaping up

By Karl Freitag

Puerto Rican Olympian Felix Verdejo (8-0, 6 KOs) will open the pay-per-view telecast of the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios mega-fight November 23 in the Cotai Arena at The Venetian Macao, China. Verdejo’s opponent is TBA.

The other fights on the card are as follows:

IBF featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich (17-0, 8 KOs) defends against the man he won the title from, Billy Dib (36-2, 21 KOs). Gradovich dethroned Dib by split decision in March.

Unbeaten heavyweight Andy Ruiz Jr (20-0, 14 KOs) faces Tor Hamer (21-2, 14 KOs) in what looks to be another good matchup for Ruiz. He beat previously unbeaten Joe Hanks at the same venue in July.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming (2-0) meets Juan “Pollo” Tozcano (4-0, 1 KO) in a clash of unbeaten flyweights, scheduled for six rounds.

Unbeaten lightweight Ik Yang (12-0, 8 KOs) meets Hero Tito (7-2, 3 KOs) in an eight rounder. Yang was recently signed by Top Rank.

Unbeaten super flyweight Rex Tso (7-0, 4 KOs) takes on Susu Sithjadeang (7-3, 2 KOs) in a six rounder.

Jr middleweight Kuok Kun Ng (1-0) battles You-Jie Zeng (4-4, 4 KOs) in a four round bout.
