Former world champions Manny “pacman” Pacquiao (54-5-2, 38 KOs) and Brandon “bam Bam” Rios (31-1-1, 22 KOs) will take to the air before they collide in the ring in an unprecedented seven-stop international media tour that will begin in Asia and end in the U.S. Pacquiao and Rios, their respective trainers Freddie Roach and Robert Garcia, along with Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum will embark on a 23,722-mile media tour promoting Pacquiao’s 2013 debut, in a 12-round welterweight rumble, against Rios, one of boxing’s most exciting fighters. The media tour will kick off at The Venetian Macao, on Saturday, and then head to Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore before meeting U.S.-based media at the Bristol, Conn.-basedecticut headquarters of ESPN, followed by press conferences in New York and Los Angeles. Pacquiao vs. Rios: The Clash in Cotai will take place Saturday, November 23, at The Venetian Macao’s CotaiArena and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View.
For Pacquiao, this marks his first fight outside the U.S. since his 12-round super featherweight unanimous decision victory over former world champion Oscar Larios in 2006, which took place in the Philippines. Rios’ only fight outside the U.S. was in México in 2008 when he won a 10-round split decision over Ricardo Dominguez.
