Paez destroys Garcia

Jr middleweight Jorge “Maromerito” Paez (35-4-1, 21 KOs) annihilated Edison Garcia (22-15-0, 10 KOs) in the first round on Saturday night at the Centro de Convenciones in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. Two hooks to the liver finished Garcia after just 2:42. It was Paez’ eight straight win. Paez is the son of former world champion Jorge Paez.

In other fights, super bantamweight Francisco “Franky” Leal (20-7-1, 13 KOs) defeated German “Panteonero” Meraz (41-16-1, 21 KOs) by unanimous decision over eight, super lightweights Rodolfo “Rudy” Quintanilla (13-2-1, 10 KOs) and Dario “Sargento” Garibay (7-0-1. 6 KOs) battled to a six round draw, and bantamweight David “Flecha” Gaspar (19-4-1, 11 KOs) scores a third round KO over Jorge Guerrero (7-11, 5 KOs).
