Welterweight Jorge “Maromerito” Paez Jr. (33-4-1, 19 KOs) won a ten round majority decision over Charlie Jose Navarro (22-6, 17 KOs) to claim the WBC silver belt on Saturday night at the Plaza Calafia in Mexicali, BCN, Mexico. Paez, the son of Jorge “Maromero” Paez, overcame a second round knockdown to drop Navarro in round six and win by scores of 96-92, 95-93 and 94-94.
Super lightweight Armando “Chato” Robles (23-1-2, 11 KOs) took a ten round majority nod over former orld champion Humberto Mauro “Betillo” Gutierrez (28-4-2, 20 KOs). Scores were 96-95, 98-92 for Robles and 95-95.
In a lightweight bout, Luis “Vampiro” Arceo (24-11-4, 16 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Adalberto “Tremendo” Borquez (25-10-1, 23 KOs).
