As the boxing scene continues to grow at an explosive rate in the state of Kansas, one promoter is pushing harder than most in the Midwest. Jeff Page president of SKC Promotions has been a big provider of a constant feed of boxing in Wichita, Kansas, averaging ten shows a year. What makes Page’s story unique is that not only is he a promoter/manager he is also the father of light heavyweight prospect Jeff Page Jr, who fights almost every other month on all of his father’s cards.
Saturday night in the main event of the evening undefeated Jeff Page Jr (14-0, 9 KOs) scored a sixth round KO over fellow Kansas resident Dominique Alexander (25-17-1, 12 KOs).
From the opening sound of the bell, Page literally took control of the fight and dominated Alexander every round until the end of the fight. He walked away not only with the victory but also the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF), Inter-Continental title.
After the fight Page, thanked all his friends, family and fans after the victory and had choice words for another boxer in his division. “We want Mike Lee on July 27th in Chicago, we been asking for this fight for some time now but nothing comes of it. Someone needs to step up and accept the fight, no running, we can provide the boxing world a chance to watch two prospects battle engaged in war,” Said Page Jr.
Welterweight Ahmad Cheikho (15-5-2, 10 KOs) defeated Kelley Wright to nobody’s surprise by 1st round TKO. Wright came into the bout with a 12 fight losing streak.
