Palacios hits Mexico City

Former WBC interim world champion and Nicaraguan, Juan Palacios, arrived Monday in Mexico City, Mexico at the International Airport Benito Juarez. He told the media awaiting his arrival that he is confident and convinced that next Saturday in San Martin Texmelucan, Puebla, Mexico that he will snatch the WBA miniumweight belt away from champion Samuel Gutierrez. Palacios, (27-3, 21 KOs) has been defeated by former WBC world champ Jose Antonio Aguirre, Ernesto Castro, and against Thai Oleydong Sithsamerchai, however the results of all three losses were controversial and many consider Palacios to be the true victor. The fight is organized by Promociones del Pueblo with support from Grupo Modelo and will air on Televisa (Mexico).
