Cleotis ‘Mookie’ Pendarvis (8-1-2, 2 KOs) will take a major step up in competition when he battles veteran Steve ‘ The Mongoose’ Quinonez (31-13-1, 13 KOs) this Friday at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello, California in a junior welterweight contest. The bout is scheduled for eight rounds and is being promoted by Ed Holmes Allstar Boxing. The two fighters are no strangers to each other having sparred multiple rounds last year in Glendale, California. Pendarvis is very confident of handling the stern test that awaits him. ” I just feel that their comes a point in a boxer’s career where you have to step up and see where you’re at in your career and I feel that time is now for me,” said Pendarvis. Quinonez has fought several former world champions including Jose Luis Castillo, Steve Forbes, and the late Diego Corrales.
