Perez dethrones FECARBOX champ Robles

Felix “La Ardilla” Pérez won the most important fight of his career when he topped the super flyweight contender Miguel “El Loco” Robles by unanimous decision in the main event of Boxeo Boricua WAPA 2 Deportes presented by Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment at the Coliseo Roger L. Mendoza in Caguas, Puerto Rico. “La Ardilla” established his game plan from the very first round landing some great shots on Robles who was looking out of it and not too sharp with his punches. In the third round a flashy right hand dropped Robles to the canvas but Robles got back on feet to continue the bout. Felix Perez had the most exciting moments during the fight and convinced the judges to his favor.

“I feel really happy with this victory I knew that I could beat him. Is a new chapter in my career” said La Ardilla Perez, who becomes the new super flyweight FECARBOX champion.

Meanwhile a frustrated Miguel Robles admited that the loss was due to his recent inactivity because of personal matters “I didn’t have the rhthym tonight, the inactivity definitely affected me, but I will be back as I always do.”

Another exciting fight was heavyweight sensation “El Chicano” Carlos Cotto who scored a spectacular KO over Victor Pizarro in round two. “El Chicano” won the prize of “El Palo De La Noche” from Palo Viejo.

Also the featherweight Alberto “Explosivo” Machado won a one sided unanimous decision over Luis O. Quezada, Yomar “The Magic” Alamo made his pro-debut with a brutal KO win over Carlos Acevedo in the first round. Camilo Perez won by unanimous decision over Irvin Hernandez, Jose “Wonder Boy” Lopez outboxed veteran Miguel “Samurai” Del Valle to win a unanimous decision. Joel Collazo also won by unanimous decision against Pedro Ortiz. Kevin Nieves stopped Juan G. Cruz in round 3 and Christian Rivera destroyed Efrain Salgado in the second round also Jonathan Kuilan won a unanimous decision over Alexis Diaz and Alvin Torres had a majority draw with Jesse Padilla.
