Heavyweights Francesco Pianeta and Francois Botha, along with female middleweight champion Christina Hammer and her challenger Yahaira Hernandez thrilled local fight fans as they showed their skill during a public workout at the “Alpincenter” in Bottrop, Germany, a famous indoor skiing arena in the middle of the Ruhr region. This was the first time Hernandez, from the Dominican Republic, has ever been in the snow. Among those on hand was German heavyweight icon Axel Schulz in support of Pianeta and visiting his “old friend” Botha. The fights take place Friday at the RWE Halle in Mülheim.
