On Thursday there was a press conference to officially announce a card billed as “Greatness Mexico” featuring a WBC flyweight world title fight between challenger and former WBC world champion Adrian Hernandez (24-2-1, 15 KOs) and current world champion Kompayak Porpramook (43-3, 31 KOs) on October 6 at the Convention Center in Toluca, organized by Zanfer Promotions and broadcast on TV Azteca.
Together with his trainer, the legendary Ignacio Beristain, the ‘Confessor’ said the title will again be in his hands. “Being at home is an extra motivation, we have done a lot of preparation and that gives me the confidence to know that on October I’ll be world champion,” Hernandez stated.
Porpramook said, “Yesterday I arrived in Mexico and I said I beat him once and I’ve come to win for the second time. The fight we know will be harder than before. Expect a war. If he says he is prepared well, I did work in the gym, so I’m sure that the title is returning to Thailand with me.”
After the conference, both fighters met the WBC’s one-week pre-weigh commitment at 113.30.
