Postol and Kulumbegov score wins in Kiev tonight

WBC #1 Viktor Postol, now 23-0, widely outpointed Ignacio Mendoza over 12 rounds to retain his WBC International 140lbs title. Next up for Postol could be a WBC final eliminator against Selcuk Aydin who recently won the WBC Mediterranean title against former Postol victim DeMarcus Corley. On the undercard Marat Kulumbegov stayed unbeaten in 13 fights (one draw) to score a shutout 10 rounds points decision against Mikheil Khutsishvili to win the vacant WBC Youth Silver middleweight title.
This excellent show was promoted by Elite Box Promotion headed by Roman Vaselyuk in their gym.

For 18 years, Fightnews.com® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
