Puerto Rico has a long tradition of producing world champions in boxing. That tradition is continuing with PR Best Boxing Promotions( Ivan & Peter Rivera) based in Puerto Rico. They currently have four WBO world champions which include Ivan ‘Iron Boy’ Calderon (108lbs), Jose ‘Carita’ Lopez (115lbs), Juan Manuel’ Juanma’ Lopez (122lbs), and Ramon ‘Rocky’ Martinez (130lbs). The Rivera brothers are now looking to add a fifth world champion to their roster next month in former world champion Eric Morel whom they promote. Morel will challenge WBO batamweight champion Fernando Montiel in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 27th. Should Morel be successful they would crown their third world champion in three months.
