Presser called to announce Ortiz-Lopez

“Vicious” Victor Ortiz and Josesito Lopez will make it official on Wednesday at a press conference in Los Angeles that Ortiz will fight Lopez June 23 at Staples Center. Lopez is moving up to welterweight from the 140lb division to replace Andre Berto, who tested positive for a banned substance. Lopez (29-4, 17 KOs), who lost his last fight against Jesse Vargas by split decision last September, is an all action fighter who has fought on ShoBox several times. Heavyweight Chris Arreola has also been added to the card. The co-feature is an interesting jr welterweight ten-rounder between former world champion Humberto Soto and Lucas Matthysse.
