Price stays unbeaten

Unbeaten 6’8 heavyweight David Price (13-0, 11 KOs) scored a spectacular fourth round TKO Over Sam Sexton (15-3, 6 KOs) to claim the vacant BBBofC British heavyweight title on Saturday night at the Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool, England. The Olympic bronze medalist floored Sexton at the end of round three with a right hand, then Price put Sexton on the deck twice in round four and the bout was stopped. Time was 2:07.

In an upset, unheralded junior welterweight Darren Hamilton (12-2, 3 KOs) outworked WBC #11, IBF #11 rated Ashley Theophane (31-5-1, 9 KOs) over twelve rounds to surprisingly seize Theophane’s BBBofC British belt. Hamilton took the bout on less than a week’s notice and denied Theophane the chance to keep the Londsale belt outright. Scores were 117-112, 118-113 and 115-113.

    Help Support®

For 18 years,® has delivered daily boxing news to fight fans around the globe. From the beginning, we have always kept Fightnews free to our readers and relied on advertiser support. Anyway, the Miami Herald, The Guardian, and Wikipedia among others have been using the “crowdfunding” revenue model, so we thought we’d test it too.

Please consider helping out. You’re not obligated to, but even a $1 pledge would really help. And if we reach our goal, we plan to upgrade our server and maybe even nuke the ads altogether. Wouldn’t that be nice?
