Prieto upsets Mosquera, Caballero KOs Aburto

Panamanian former WBA world champion Vicente “El Loco” Mosquera (33-3-1, 18 KOs) lost a twelve round unanimous decision against Mexican Javier Prieto (24-7, 18 KOs) in the main event on Saturday night at the Arena Teofilio “Panama” Al Brown in Colon, Panama. Scores were 115-112, 116-111 and 115-112 as Prieto claimed the WBC lightweight silver belt. Mosquera, who was down in round twelve, apparently fought the entire fight with an injured shoulder.

In the co-feature, Panamanian two-division former world champion Celestino “Pelenchín” Caballero (37-5, 24 KOs) won by TKO in two rounds against Nicaraguan Jimmy Aburto (14-3-2, 5 KOs) to claim the vacant WBC Latino featherweight title .
