German Titov, 2008 Russian promoter of the year, staged his first homeland show in 2009 tonight at Casino Vodoley in Ekaterinburg. In a main event, WBO #12 light middleweight Sherzod Husanov (12-0, 7 KOs) showed his class once again by stopping durable journeyman Artem Vychkin (8-23, 2 KOs) in the fourth round. The former Olympian for Uzbekistan used his superior skills to batter the naturally bigger Vychkin on the ropes all night long, being especially successful in the body-punching department. In round four, Vychkin was down after another huge left to the liver by Husanov and was unable to continue.
Rising light heavyweight prospect Vasily Lepikhin (6-0, 4 KOs) delivered a devastating right uppercut to knock out aggressive Andrey Simonov (3-5, 2 KOs) in the very first round. Also, lightweight master Dmitry Ganiev (9-0-1, 3 KOs) continued his recent chain of successes with a majority decision over Vyacheslav Yakovenko (7-5-1, 3 KOs) in a non-title six-round welterweight affair.
Other results:
Roman Simakov (5-0-1, 4 KOs) UD 4 Cedrak Agagulyan (1-22)
Vyacheslav Simonov (now 1-0) UD 4 Sergey Starkov (16-52-2, 2 KOs)
