Public workouts at Mohegan Sun

Starting today, Thursday, May 13th, Peter “The Pride of Providence” Manfredo Jr. and Matt “The Sharp Shooter” Remillard headline an exciting week of public workouts at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT prior to their title fights on Saturday, May 22nd.

The public workouts also feature four undercard fighters including hard- hitting female welterweight Adelita Irizarry, lightweight prospect Joseph “Chip” Perez, and pro debuting light heavyweights Ron Scott and Reinaldo Graceski and will be held in the Shops Concourse at Mohegan Sun using the following schedule:

Fans are encouraged to meet their favorite fighters and enter a drawing to win tickets to the May 22nd event.

On Saturday, May 22nd, Manfredo Jr. will battle Chicago ’s Angel “Toro” Hernandez for the vacant IBO Middleweight Title in the twelve round main event.

Presented by TKO Boxing Promotions as part of their “HOMETOWN HEROES TO WORLD CHAMPIONS” nationally acclaimed series, the Manfredo Jr./Hernandez twelve round title bout headlines an outstanding evening of world class professional boxing.

The co-main event features the return of Matt “The Sharp Shooter” Remillard who will defend his NABF featherweight title against Carlos Rivera in a ten round bout.

Featured on the undercard are numerous world class prospects and local favorites including undefeated junior welterweight sensation Joseph Elegele, hard hitting middleweight prospect J’Leon Love, Framingham , MA . junior welterweight Danny O’Conner, female welterweight Adelita Irizarry of West Hartford, Canadian super featherweight Logan McGuinness, lightweight Joseph “Chip” Perez of East Hartford, CT. and the pro debuts of light heavyweights Ron Scott of Waterbury, CT and Reinaldo Graceski of Springfield, MA in separate bouts.

Priced at $125.00, 60.00 and $30.00, tickets for “HOMETOWN HEROES TO WORLD CHAMPIONS” are available through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com, phone 1-800-745-3000.) and the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Sunday, April 11th. Doors on the evening of the event will open at 6:30pm with the first bell at 7:30pm.
